This Privacy Policy explains how Beijing Li An Innovation Software Co., Ltd., and its parent companies NBJ Systems Limited and Time Machine Ventures, hereafter referred to collectively as Grata, use and store information we collect as you and your customers use Grata and interact with our company.

All interactions and information collected from the use of Grata products are treated as sensitive and confidential. 

Information Grata collects

If you contact Grata or register a Grata account, Grata may collect and store your name, email address, username, organization name, the contents of your communication, and other contact information you provide.

When interacting with Grata’s services, Grata collects information on the participants and content of conversations which pass through Grata’s servers. Grata stores all conversation history as well as a variety of usage statistics and meta-data.

When visiting, and other Grata-operated domains and sub-domains, Grata automatically collects data such as the users’ IP address, cookie information, page requests, and other browsing habits. Grata uses cookies to authenticate users and deliver a more seamless user experience. Grata does not share your cookie information with any third-party.

If you install Grata’s web chat plug-in on your site, Grata will collect your site visitor’s IP address, cookie information, page requests, and other browsing habits. 

What Grata does with this information

Grata stores and uses this information to authenticate users, build and recall customer profiles, allow clients access to their conversation history, report performance metrics to clients, and generally to support the regular operation and optimization of Grata services. Grata has no interest or rights to any personal customer data beyond what is necessary to operate Grata. 

Grata operates as a data processor for our clients. Grata’s clients are the owners of the data created by their use of Grata and they may instruct Grata on how data is retained or deleted during the course of our normal business relationship. At the end of the relationship, Grata clients may choose to migrate their data to another location, after which Grata will permanently remove the data from all Grata systems.

Grata uses anonymous data and other usage statistics to measure its own performance and continue to improve its products.

Grata stores some customer leads and customer contact information in a customer relationship management database for the purposes of growing and maintaining our business.

Grata does not rent or sell any personal information to third parties. Unless as described in this Privacy Policy, Grata does not share any personal information with third parties, except if required to do so by law, pursuant to subpoenas, court orders, or other requests. 

How Grata Stores your Information

By default, your Grata account is homed in Mainland China and all of your data is stored in compliance with the Cyber Security Laws of the People’s Republic of China. Grata will not transfer your data outside of that jurisdiction.

Non-Mainland China clients may choose to have their account homed outside of Mainland China. In that case, Grata will not transfer your data to Mainland China servers. 

Data Security

Grata adheres to industry best-practice for the technical, physical, and administrative protection of the privacy of your account and other personal information we store. Grata’s application and technical infrastructure have been successfully audited according to MLPS2.0 Level-3 standard. Grata services are hosted in Tier-3, ISO-27001 data centers with rigorous technical and physical security protections in place. All personal information and conversation history is stored and transmitted in an encrypted format. Unfortunately, no one can guarantee the security of your data. Unauthorized entry or use may compromise the security of personal information at any time.

Grata clients are responsible for managing their own Grata users, adequately password protecting accounts, limiting unauthorized access to computer and devices, and logging off after have finishing use of Grata services. 

External Links, Channels, and Third Parties

Links to other sites not affiliated with Grata should be browsed to at your own risk. Grata cannot be responsible for the content and policies of other sites.

Information transmitted over third-party messaging applications, including Tencent’s WeChat, is subject to the privacy policies and terms of service of those respective channels. By linking a third-party messaging account with Grata, you consent to share whatever information is transmitted through your use of that application with the service provider of that application.

Other sites and service providers are governed by different privacy policies for which Grata cannot assume responsibility. We take care to only transact the information necessary to perform the service. The following services may process some of your data:

Change of Control

In the event there is a change of control of Grata, for example if Grata is acquired, enters bankruptcy or is dissolved, customer data is generally one of the transferred business assets. Grata will notify any materially affected customer at a Change of Control event.

Updates and changes

Grata reserves the right to modify at any time the terms of this Privacy Policy. Clients will be sent a notification in writing ahead of any material changes to the Privacy Policy and will be given a reasonable period in which to respond. If clients do not agree with any changes to the terms of this Privacy Policy, they should notify Grata to discuss suitable accommodations in the Policy. On the date changes to the Policy go into effect, your continued use of Grata will be understood to be your consent to the new Policy.
